Our Journey Through Time
From our humble beginnings to becoming a global leader, explore the milestones that have shaped Durofix.
Foundation of Durofix
Durofix was established with a vision to revolutionize the assembly tool industry by prioritizing precision, durability, and smart engineering. Building on the global electrical expertise of its parent company, Mobiletron — a world leader in automotive electronics and rotating electrical components — Durofix reversed the engineering process from alternators to motors, applying decades of experience in power generation to motion control. This unique heritage enabled Durofix to create advanced cordless tools that deliver exceptional performance, reliability, and efficiency for professionals worldwide
First International Expansion
In 1987, Regitar U.S.A. was established to expand the group’s global footprint and strengthen its presence in the North American market. Focused on manufacturing and distributing high-quality automotive electronic components, Regitar became a key partner in the Mobiletron Group’s international network — laying the groundwork for future innovations like Durofix by combining Taiwanese engineering excellence with American market insight and customer service.
Mobiletron China Founded
In 1995, Mobiletron China was founded to enhance production capacity and serve the rapidly growing Asian market. This strategic expansion allowed the Mobiletron Group to integrate advanced Taiwanese engineering with large-scale manufacturing efficiency, ensuring consistent quality and faster global distribution. The establishment of Mobiletron China further strengthened the foundation on which Durofix would later build its world-class cordless tool solutions.
Pubilically Listed on Stock Exchange
In 2001, Mobiletron was publicly listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth. This achievement not only reflected its strong financial performance and global reputation but also provided the resources to accelerate innovation, expand international operations, and invest in new ventures — including the continued development of Durofix as a leading professional tool brand
Durofix USA Founded
In 2009, Durofix U.S.A. was established to bring the brand’s advanced cordless tool technology directly to the North American market. Combining Mobiletron’s proven expertise in electrical engineering with a deep understanding of professional user needs, Durofix U.S.A. focused on developing innovative, high-performance tools designed for reliability, precision, and long-term durability across industrial, automotive, and construction applications.
RAC Electric Vehicles Aquired
In 2018, the Mobiletron Group expanded its innovation portfolio by acquiring RAC Electric Vehicles, a pioneer in sustainable transportation technology. This strategic move marked the group’s commitment to advancing electrification beyond automotive components and tools, leveraging its deep expertise in motor control, battery systems, and power electronics to drive progress in the growing EV industry — further reinforcing the technological foundation behind Durofix’s cordless power solutions.
STate of the art Factory built
In 2022, Durofix established a brand-new manufacturing facility, in conjunction with parent company Mobiletron Electronics Co., Ltd. and subsidiary RAC Electric Vehicles Inc., at the Port of Taichung Export Processing Zone in Taiwan. With an investment of NT$2.5 billion (approx. US$84.4 million), the plant spans 2.07 hectares and is designed as a smart manufacturing base for electric vehicle components—including motors and energy-storage systems
MAXwin Technology aquired
In 2022, the Mobiletron Group acquired Maxwin, a company focused on automotive software and intelligent control systems. This acquisition significantly strengthened Durofix’s in-house capabilities in software architecture and firmware development — areas increasingly vital for next-generation cordless tools. By integrating Maxwin’s expertise, Durofix enhanced the performance, precision, and connectivity of its smart tool platforms, paving the way for more advanced digital control, diagnostics, and data-driven innovation across its product range.
